Josh harrington interviewJosh Harrington has won Metro three times. He was looking unbeatable for a while, but he's run into some bad luck lately with injuries. We interviewed Josh to get his take on things. How have you been lately, and what have you been up to? I have been good! Taking me a while to recover from a crash I had back in February. I landed on my face and had 8 screws and 2 plates put in my face. It has mentally taken a while for me to get over that crash but I'm feeling back to normal now. I have been riding with all of my friends at home and having a lot of fun. How's your health in general these days? I wish I were more healthy than I am, but it's part of this game. My right shoulder and right knee constantly bother me a bit. One of these days I need to get some work done. You pretty much kill it at every Metro you ride. You won three in a row. Why is that? Metro is super fun. The courses provide for every riding style. It's just different to the Dew/X games style contest where it's more of a strict format and the courses have fewer riders input. You had bad luck at the last two Metros, first in Vancouver and then in Singapore. In both contests you qualified first but weren't able to ride finals because you got hurt. How disappointing is that? I was super bummed at both of those! I actually qualified 2nd in Singapore, but yeah to do so well in qualifying and end up in some lame hospital is not my idea of a reward. Hopefully this time I can play it cool and be 1000 percent from beginning to end. What's your favorite Metro memory? It can be riding or non-riding? Toronto 05. I won the Metro Jam. I seriously didn't think that was possible in a million years. I was almost too intimidated to go, and ended up winning. It was like a dream come true. Outside of that Metro is always a good memory just because of the laid back environment and the amount of radical people that make the trip. This is a two-part question. First, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Second, who weighs more, you or the new Rob Darden? I'm 6' 4” and weigh 180 lbs. Rob Darden weighs the exact same as Chuck Norris and that must be more than me. When you won the Oakley hard trick contest, everyone made you give your prizes to Aaron Ross since you ride for Oakley, were you pissed? I didn't really care. His trick was sweet anyways (double whip off an up ledge). Who's your favorite new rider who's coming up? Ty Morrow Who's going to win this year's Metro? Chris Doyle Name your sponsors and thank them if they're cool. Premium Products, Vans, Oakley, Rockstar Energy Drink |
